Key Rules
- Can exceed salary cap but NOT the $150M hard cap
- Cannot sign your own FAs — other teams' UFAs only
- Must re-sign all own FAs you intend to keep first
- Forfeits all remaining tenure rights on unsigned players
- 2-year no-trade clause (Year 1 hard, Year 2 waivable)
- Cannot use MLE in the same season
- Once every 2 seasons cooldown
- Losing team gets $15M RPE (signing or trade exception)

Protecting Denver's Free Agents
Other teams can use XLE to sign Denver's unrestricted FAs. Denver must re-sign anyone they want to keep before FA Day 2. Upon submitting an XLE offer, the poaching team forfeits all their own remaining tenure rights. Denver would receive a $15M Replacement Player Exemption (RPE) if a player is poached.
